01

A site that stakeholders needed to understand

Dispersed teams needed a shared understanding of site conditions, plans and safety considerations without every conversation requiring physical access or personnel ascending the site.

02

Starting with the planning conversation

Spencer led client, commercial and technical engagement through Holosphere, focusing the solution on the decisions stakeholders needed to make together rather than on a technology demonstration in isolation.

03

Bringing the sources together

Drone and LiDAR capture, BIM information and real-time 3D were combined into a navigable view of the site. The model gave different disciplines a common spatial reference for planning and discussion.

04

Collaboration across locations

Multi-user access, avatars and voice communication enabled remote participants to review the same site model, point to issues and test equipment positioning in a shared planning room.

05

Making site knowledge easier to share

The delivered environment supported planning, communication, stakeholder engagement and health-and-safety conversations across locations, and received strong feedback from senior Balfour Beatty stakeholders.

Outcome

The environment supported planning, communication, stakeholder engagement and health-and-safety discussion across locations.
